Meet Our Physician Assistants - highly trained, highly qualified & very popular with our patients!
Q: What is a physician assistant? A licensed health professional who practices medicine under the supervision of a physician.
Q: What do they do? Provide a broad range of health care services enabling them to exercise considerable independence in diagnosing, prescribing for & treating skin conditions. The scope of our P.A.s services is directly aligned with Dr. Ostad's practice specialty.
Q: Do P.A.s specialize? Yes. They receive extensive education in primary care medicine. This is further complemented by attending continuing medical education programs that are required as well as through continual interaction with Dr. Ostad.
Q: What does the C stand for in RPA-C? Physician Assistant - Certified. This means that they have met the defined course of study & have undergone testing by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). In order for them to maintain the certification, they must log 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years (the recertification exam must also be taken every six years). The R means registered!
