What Is EMFACE®?

Double chins can be a source of concern for both women and men. Luckily, technology can offer a solution. Made to prioritize patient comfort, the submentum applicator from EMFACE® offers a bruise-free and needle-free experience. The treatment takes about 20 minutes to cover a small region, with minimal potential for downtime.

EMFACE® is the first device on the market to apply Synchronized Radiofrequency (RF) and  High Intensity Focused Electrical Stimulation (HIFES™) simultaneously. Synchronized RF remodels and smooths skin by heating the dermis and increasing the levels of collagen and elastin fibers. At the same time, HIFES™ technology restores and elevates the support of facial tissues. This is done by selectively contracting muscles and increasing the density and quality of muscle structure.

Clinical Studies showed that the simultaneous emission of Synchronized RF and HIFES™ energies reduces the effects of the facial aging process. On average, you may notice 38 percent less wrinkling, an increase in lift of 23 percent, and a 30 percent increase in muscle mass.

How EMFACE® Works

The EMFACE® submentum applicator works similarly to the other applicators, the only difference being that it targets the layers of skin and muscles from under your chin. Once attached, the EMFACE® submentum applicator delivers HIFES™ muscle stimulation energy and synchronized radiofrequency. 

While the RF technology delivers heat into the dermis area to stimulate elastin and collagen production and reduce excess fat, the HIFES™ will create selective muscle contraction, tightening and toning the skin in the chin and jaw area. The process offers similar effects to chin exercises, targeting groups of muscles that are otherwise difficult to activate.

Together with the cheek and forehead applicators, the EMFACE® submentum tool can offer a more youthful look, lifting your facial features and reducing the appearance of sagging skin. Treatment Process

The treatment process for EMFACE® is quite simple, with most patients using it as an opportunity to relax. To ensure its efficiency, Dr. Ostad will go through the following steps: 

Consultation: Dr. Ostad and his team will thoroughly consult with you, determining your medical history and discussing your goals. This way, we can ensure that EMFACE® is the best option for your needs.

Skin Preparation: Before the start of the treatment, your skin will be cleansed of any impurities, including makeup and oils. By doing this, the applicators can make proper contact with your skin and offer optimal results. 

Application and Activation: The adhesive applicator pads will be placed on your skin. Once they are in place, the EMFACE® device is activated, and Dr. Ostad will leave it there for the next 20 minutes, on average. 

Removal and Aftercare: After 20 minutes, Dr. Ostad will remove the applicator and clean any remaining adhesive from your skin. You will be advised on how to take care of your complexion, such as avoiding direct exposure to the sun for the time being. 

You may see some improvement in your skin quality with just one treatment, but multiple sessions may be required for optimal results. You should book a series of four to six treatments, spacing them one week apart.
