As you age, you’ll notice various changes to your body, the most visible one being the appearance of wrinkles. This happens because your body will no longer produce as much elastin and collagen and will also lose fat support, causing your skin to sag. A lifetime of facial movements can also lead to the appearance of wrinkles, as your skin is becoming more fragile. To combat wrinkles, Dr. Ariel Ostad offers a series of treatments that can help you look younger and more radiant.

Candidates for Wrinkle Treatments

If you have wrinkles, you may opt for one of the various treatments we have available.

Ideal candidates are usually aged between 30 and 75, but this may vary from one person to another. If you notice fine lines and wrinkles on your face, then you may be an ideal candidate for wrinkle treatments.

Before & After

Top Wrinkle Treatments

Some of the top wrinkle treatments we offer are:

1. Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a great way to reduce the appearance of resting wrinkles and lost volume caused by the natural aging process. This can include folds around the nose, mouth, cheeks, jawline, and chin, no matter if they’re caused by facial movements or not. These fillers often consist of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally produced by your body. This treatment will fill in the hollow areas of the face, including those lines and wrinkles, providing a contoured and smooth canvas.

2. BOTOX® Cosmetic

Very often, wrinkles are caused by repetitive movements such as frowning, smiling, squinting your eyes, and more. As your face loses collagen over time, your skin may no longer be able to keep up with these movements. BOTOX® Cosmetic injections can help to temporarily block the signals going from your nerves to your muscles, therefore decreasing the movements that often lead to wrinkles. This will reduce a variety of dynamic wrinkles such as crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, bunny lines, chin, neck, and the vertical lines between your brows (frown lines).

3. Morpheus8™

Morpheus8™ uses radiofrequency to treat deep wrinkles within the layers of your skin, obtaining a significant anti-aging effect. Through its action, the procedure stimulates your body’s own collagen production, without damaging your skin. It also employs microneedling, which will trigger your body’s natural healing process and it can lift and tighten the skin, improving its condition after just a couple of sessions.

Emface is an FDA-approved, revolutionary quick, needle-free nonsurgical facelift that treats facial skin and muscles simultaneously in a 20 minute session! This technology emits both radiofrequency (RF) energy and High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation (HIFES) energy to remodel and smooth the skin, elevate and restore the facial tissues and the muscles of the face and forehead resulting in lifting of the face and eyebrows. Within a 20 minute session, there are 75,000 contractions of the facial muscles. Within 4 sessions, you can see a:

  • 37% reduction in wrinkles
  • 30% increase in muscle tone
  • 23% more lift

It is recommended to have 4 sessions spaced one week apart to provide the best results for men and women

5. PRP Therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections will use your own plasma to stimulate the production of collagen, reducing the signs of wrinkles. It’s a natural alternative to fillers, as it can help improve the condition of the skin. When injected into the skin, platelet-rich plasma will trigger the natural healing response of your body, leading to faster tissue regeneration and smoother and tighter skin. It is a safe, minimally invasive treatment.

Recovery After Wrinkle Treatments

Each wrinkle treatment is different, but most of them will require minimal downtime. That being said, your skin may be fairly sensitive after the procedure, no matter if you are using dermal fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic, or Morpheus8™. Dr. Ariel Ostad recommends that you stay out of direct sunlight for the next 24 hours and that you refrain from strenuous activities until the skin recovers.

You may also notice swelling of the skin, but you can alleviate it by using a cold compress. You should cleanse your face gently, especially if you received a dermal filler treatment, and ensure that you stay hydrated and drink plenty of liquids.

Avoiding drinking and smoking is advised. Additionally, when going outdoors, make sure that you wear sunscreen that has at least an SPF50 rating. Last but not least, do not rub or massage your skin in the hours after, as this may displace the substance from the intended treated area. Also, it’s very important to remember not to visit the dentist for about a week or two after Filler injections.

Wrinkle Treatment Results

Wrinkle treatments may show different results based on the treatment option that you are going in for. For instance, if you use dermal fillers as a way to remove wrinkles, then the first results may be visible from the moment you step out of the doctor’s office. On the other hand, if you go for treatments such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, then your results may begin to show within a few days (or even weeks) after the procedure.

Wrinkle treatments are rarely permanent, especially as your skin starts to lose its collagen-making ability. Some treatments can work in the long term, especially the ones involving microneedling, but it is recommended that you discuss your goals with Dr. Ariel Ostad, to determine which option will bring you the results that you are looking to achieve.

Injectable wrinkle treatments may last between three months and one to two years and skin resurfacing treatments may keep wrinkles away for up to five years. Keep in mind that you should follow a correct skincare routine so that you can maintain your results.
